Thiyo Lukusa decides to become a Spartan

Michigan State is on a roll now, and is showing no sign of slowing down on the recruiting trail. Hours after landing Detroit Cass Tech junior safety, Demetric Vance, to their already loaded class of 2016 cycle, Traverse City (Mich.) West junior offensive lineman, Thiyo Lukusa, decided to become the 11th commit of the class, and second from Michigan, with this tweet late last night.

The 6-5, 300-pounder, Lukusa, who also plays AAU basketball for ACB Bank Hoops, turned down offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Auburn, Wisconsin, Penn State, and Georgia, to join Sparty's party. He was once considered to be a Michigan lean, almost becoming a Wolverine, but things with them cooled down, and he started to trend more to Michigan State.
RIvals.com ranks Lukusa as the No.10 player in the state of Michigan, and a three-star recruit. Lukusa is a huge instate get for Michigan State, who have been dominating instate recruiting. Several other prospects, like Donnie Corley, Khalid Kareem, and Michael Onwenu, are still on the board, and the Spartans could have them to their class at some point as well.
