How did they fare?
How Detroit area players from all over the country fared during week two of the college football season.
Shane Morris was on fire for the Chippewas, in Central Michigan's big win over Kansas. The former top-100 player was 28-37 for 467 yards and five touchdowns. Morris' career didn't get off to a great start last week for CMU, but that should spark things up.
In 2015, Detroit King's defensive secondary gave up just two passing touchdowns the entire season. Lavert Hill was a part of that group. He had a pick=six for Michigan's defense to help them put away Cincinnati 36-14.
As great of a season as Heisman candidate Lamar Jackson is having, is wide receivers are reaping the benefits also. Ask Dez Fitzpatrick, who followed up last week's game with another big game, catching four balls for 78 yards and two scores.
Oklahoma planted their flag into Ohio State's field, getting the best of them, 31-16. But Damon Webb had a solid game from his starting safety spot, with nine tackles, and a recovered fumble.
Central Michigan put up huge numbers against Kansas, in a 45-27 win. Two wide receivers went over 100 yards, including Mark Chapman, who had eight catches for 168 yards and three touchdowns.
