The first offer is in for 2016 DB Jakkar Jackson, from Kent State

In recruiting, patience is a trait you must possess. Jakkar Jackson knows all to well. The Farmington (Mich.) 2016 safety entered high school as one of the top defensive backs in Michigan, but an offer never came to back that up, until now. Kent State offered the 5-11, 185-pounder, ending a long drought for him, without a scholarship offer.
"It was kind of stressful, but eventually, I knew my time was coming," said Jackson. "As long as I kept doing what I was supposed to do, it would happen for me."

Jackson was on visit to the Kent State campus when he received word of his first offer. And of course, like anyone's first offer, it's something he said he wouldn't forget, with what he has had to endure.
"I was amazed, because I had finally received my first offer," he said. "I've worked really hard for this, and now I know hard work truly pays off.
"The head coach pulled me out of the safeties meeting, and said 'our staff is recruiting guys to that are dogs. We feel like you're a beast, and we're going to pay for your education to goo to Kent State University'. At that moment, I just visualized about all of the hard work I had put in to getting my first offer."
Just how hard has it been for Jackson in the process? Try watching all of your football buddies receive their offers, and you having to wonder if you'd ever have the opportunity they had. Or better yet, seeing your two best friends, and teammates and Farmington High, Desmond Fitzpatrick and David Reese, both receive a number of offers, and both have the opportunity to continue their playing careers together at Louisville. Sure it was tough for Jackson, but he hung in there through it all.
"It was kind of hard, because I knew I was a Division I player as well," Jackson said. "But hey, you can't do anything about it but keep grinding, and wait until it happens.
"They (Fitzpatrick and Reese) always told me that my time was coming, because they thought that I've been putting in the work to receive a Division I offer, and in addition to that, they said the grind doesn't stop."
Jackson has handful of other Mid-American Conference schools on his heels, as well as some Big Ten schools, so the offer Kent State offer could start a chain reaction in his recruitment. One thing is for sure, the Golden Flashes have placed themselves in great position to land Jackson, with them being number one. Other than the offer, he genuinely enjoyed his time there.
"The visit was good," said Jackson. "I had a chance to see the defensive scheme and the campus. I felt pretty good about everything there. I will definitely consider Kent State, because there is nothing like your first offer."
