Sought after PG Cassius WInston talks top five list

No one still knows where University of Detroit Jesuit (Mich.) senior point guard, and the No.28 player in the nation, Cassius Winston, wants to attend school, and you might as well not even try to guess where. As good as he is on the court, Winston is a pro at answering questions involving his recruitment. But at least he gave us some idea of where he will go, dropping a top five list a few days ago, that included Michigan, Michigan State, of course, Pittsburgh, Stanford, and a bit of a surprise school, Harvard. He talks about why he chose those five, and when a decision will possibly come, in this Q and A session.

Q: Why those five schools, Michigan State, Michigan, Harvard, Stanford, and Pittsburgh?
A: "All five of those schools provide me with the opportunity to be successful in any aspect of my life."
Q: Do you have any plans on visiting all five schools before you make a decision?
A: "Yes, I will visit all five."
Q: A lot people around the state think your recruitment is a battle between Michigan and Michigan State. What do you have to say to that?
A: "LOL. Those are two great schools that I'm strongly considering, but there are other schools that I am looking at too. If it ever gets to a point where it becomes an in-state battle, I will gladly let everyone know."
Q: Why do you have Michigan State in your top five?
A: "I love Coach Izzo. My family loves him. They win games, and they play as a family."
Q: Why Michigan in your top five?
A: "They are close to home. I love the coaching staff, and I love how they play and develop players.
Q: And why Harvard? Obviously that's different for a player of your caliber.
A: "I know that if I go there and take care of my business, it's a good possibility that I would be set for life. And it's a perfect setting for me to make something new there from a basketball standpoint."
Q: So evidently, you're thinking about more than just maybe making it to the NBA, and academics at the next level and beyond?
A: "Yes. Because as of now, I'm just not destined to go to the NBA. It's a lot of work and obstacles I have to tackle before that, so I have to be prepared for, if basketball doesn't work out, and even if it does, that education just expands my brand."
Q: The people want to know, are you and Miles Bridges a package deal?
A: "LOL, no. We both are going to do what's best for us, and our future. If that means we end up at the same school, great. If not, good luck to him, and I wish his the best."
Q: Do you have any idea when you will finally make a decision?
A: "I don't know. Hopefully before the season."
Q: How was playing in the Nike Global Summit?
A: "It was fun. Good experience for me."
