Michigan increases chances with 2017 ATH Ambry Thomas

Michigan may have increased their chances of landing one of the top instate players in the class of 2017 players, when they hosted several of the top sophomores in the state for their Underclassman Day yesterday. Detroit King two-way player, Ambry Thomas, received an offer from U-M back on April 16, an was obviously happy to receive it then. But he said his most recent visit to Ann Arbor "gave him some thoughts" after he left.
"The visit was good," Thomas said. "I enjoyed getting to talk to the coaches, and they brought positive energy in the room. They (Michigan) could be one of the top picks in the future."

The purpose of head coach, Jim Harbaugh, and his staff, for hosting the event, was to increase awareness among the younger football prospects in the state, and to boost instate recruiting. Their plan certainly worked with Thomas, who came away impressed, and took notice of one particular coach at Michigan.
"I liked talking to Coach Partridge the most," Thomas said. "I just liked what he was talking about, and his background. I would like to get to know them (the coaches) more."
Thomas said he had an opportunity to walk around campus and eat with Coach Harbaugh and the rest of the players, and he really enjoyed his time around the Ann Arbor campus.
The 6-0, 170-pounder has is being recruited by the Wolverines on both side of the ball, and has speed for days. He arguably the fastest football player in the state, and someone Michigan will want to get their hands on. Thomas also holds four SEC offers, so I due time, he has the chance to be a national prospect. But even all of that, and being recognized as one of the best in the state hasn't blown Thomas' head up.
"It mean nothing at all," he said of all his early accolades. "I still haven't accomplished the main goal, which is to help my team win a state championship."
