QB Chris Lee 6’4” 185 Ypsilanti Lincoln

His numbers may not match the 2,367 yards and 17 TDs he threw for last year, but the talent’s still there. This rangy lefty has a lot of raw potential. He’s a playmaker with a gun.
RB Jerome Jackson 6’0” 195 Saginaw
He can run between tackles or break out around the end. Has the build of a workhorse number one back. Ran for 1,700 yards as a junior.
RB Marcus Woods 5’8” 180 Farmington Hills Harrison
You say he’s too small, we’d say he’s about to break John Miller’s career TD record at Harrison so he must be doing something right. Woods had 1,660 yards and 32 scores as a junior. He’s started on two state championship teams.
OL Jake Long 6’7” 305 Lapeer East
Like in-state lineman John Runyan and Jon Jansen, big, athletic multi-sport types who go to Michigan and end up in the NFL. Plays both ways and simply overwhelms the opposition at the high school level.
OL Frederick McConnell 6’4” 325 Southfield-Lathrup
Powerhouse blocker and excellent student, McConnell is being recruited by Big 10 schools … just not the in-state ones.
OL Nick Fincher 6’4” 270 Chippewa Valley
With his quickness – runs a sub-5.0 40-yard dash -- will probably end up at guard when he goes to Purdue.
OL Pat Sharrow 6’5” 275 Monroe
The fastest player of this group, running a 4.85 40. Could conceivably play defense at the next level.
OL James Blair 6’3” 320 Detroit Pershing
This poor man’s Gabe Watson is the best prospect in the PSL.
TE Garrett Bushong 6’5” 230 Ionia
He would get more pub if he hadn’t committed to Michigan State before his junior year. Like Kevin Murphy, a basketball athlete tough enough to get it done in the fall. He’s a four-year starter who caught seven TD passes last season.
WR Lonnie Hurst 6’2” 185 Detroit U-D Jesuit
Type of receiver who can go up and get the ball. Hurst had 820 yards last season … almost as impressive as his 30 ACT.
WR Joel Malkasian 6’1” 195 Lake Orion
He’s been all-state two years already, and was most productive as a sophomore when he was hooking up with Chad Day. He had 826 yards and a dozen TDs as a junior.
PK Eric Ledbetter 5’10” 170 Rockford
First-Team Defense
DL Chris Patrick 6’5” 240 Ithaca
His brother, Joe, is an offensive lineman at Michigan State but Chris’ future is on the defensive side of the ball given his quickness and overall athleticism.
DL Doug Van Dyke 6’6” 250 Marshall
The best line prospect in the state with his size and athleticism, huge potential. Van Dyke gets it done against the pass and the run. His brother was an MSU quarterback but it doesn’t look like Doug is headed to East Lansing.
DL Derrick Outlaw 6’5” 225 Cassopolis
Smalltown kid who wasn’t on anyone’s radar screen … except Bobby Williams, who got Outlaw and appears to have been ahead of the game. Not exceptionally strong yet, but has a good foundation and real speed on the rush.
LB Lamarr Woodley 6’3” 255 Saginaw
A consenus all-American and the state’s best defensive prospect since Ernest Shazor two years ago at Detroit King. Know this about Woodley – he will hunt you down, and you’re not getting away thanks to his ridiculously long and strong arms.
LB Jim Presley 6’3” 225 Milford
Looking at his raw numbers you might think that Presley is merely a workout warrior. But he’s also the best player in school history, having led the team in tackles the last two years, seasons in which he rushed for over 1,000 yards, as well. He’s headed down US-23 to play at Michigan.
LB Ravon Ellis 6’2” 240 Ann Arbor Huron
He doesn’t have the super athleticism that makes scouts automatically love his game. But then you watch Ellis on the field and all he does is make plays. And, from the game-respect-game category, Jim Presley calls Ellis one of the best players he saw on the summer camp circuit.
LB Anthony Rogers 6’2” 250 Saginaw
Being in the same class with superstars like Woodley and Jackson, Rogers gets overlooked … by everyone but the QBs and RBs he brings down in the backfield.
DB Mark Catlin 5’10” 175 Lowell
The high school version of Antwan Ranldle-El, he is a true creator as a quarterback and on the other side had seven interceptions as a junior. This will be Catlin’s fourth year as a starter. Lowell has made the playoffs in the previous three.
DB Alan Ball 6’2” 170 Detroit DePorres
Committed to Illinois. Last year he had 10 interceptions for DePorres’ state championship team.
DB Samad Cain 6’3” 185 Detroit King
Cain saw to it that the Ernest Shazor withdrawal wasn’t as bad as Crusaders fans might have imagined. He had eight INTs and 57 tackles.
DB Anthony Thornhill 6’2” 188 Detroit Central
A hard-hitting safety with 4.55 speed who made 68 tackles as a junior.
P Brian Jackson 6’3” 185 Lansing Sexton
Second-Team Offense
