Pickelman is a Chip

On the field, Central Michigan downed rival Western Michigan 31-7 Friday evening and following the win they promptly beat the Broncos for a top prospect both schools were eyeing. Marshall (Mich.) linebacker Kevin Pickelman gave his verbal commitment to the Chippewas after naming them his leaders since last summer.
"Kevin has given his verbal commitment to Central Michigan last Friday," wrote Pickelman's father, Dale, via email.

The 6-4, 235-pound Pickelman could potentially play linebacker or defensive end at the college level. He also had offers from Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan.
Pickelman was first team all-conference three straight years for Marshall. Earlier this season, he reported an average of 12-15 tackles per game.
