Detroit Public School League racking up the commits

No other league in the state of Michigan can say they boast seven Division I football commits, outside of the Detroit Public School League. And that number will only continue to grow over the summer, and after the season. Out of the seven commits so far, all are seniors, and are spread out across four schools.
Mumford two-way player, Tee'Ondre Harvey, became the latest to make his college decision, when he pledged to Central Michigan last night. The 6-1, 172-pounder is a playmaker on either side of the ball, and more than likely will be a defensive back at CMU. The Mustangs are a program in the rise under head coach, Donshell English, and Harvey won't be last player there to possibly commit to a D-1 program.

Central Michigan also landed a commitment from two-star defensive end, Leon Page, of Martin Luther King, who committed to them while on visit on Monday. A speed rusher of the end at 6-3, 240-pounds, Page racked up 16 sacks as a junior in 2014. Page's teammate at King, defensive back, LaVert Hill, is also committed to a school, a Big Ten school. Hill surprised most with when became a Penn State Nittany Lion back on January 31. Hill is arguably the best cornerback in the state, has seen his stock soar over the last few weeks. The Crusaders have at least three other players in their 2016 class who hold an offer, and have yet to make a college decision.
When King plays their archrival, Cass Technical, on September, there will be no less than 20 kids with at least one Division I offer on the field, including two who have committed to BCS schools for the Technicians. Demetric Vance might be the best safety in the state, and Michigan State is getting a good one in the 6-3, 196-pounder, who committed on May 13. He has great size, ball skills, and makes plays. He's teammates with offensive lineman, Michael Onwenu, for now, but not when Onwenu goes off to play at Michigan. A man amongst boys at 6-3, 368-pounds, Onwenu is a brick all, and it is hard to penetrate through him. He committed to the Wolverines on June 2. There are five other seniors at Cass Tech who will commit to a school sooner or later.
East English Village Prep has a set of bookend defensive ends who actually both committed to Iowa on the same day. You have the super-athletic, speed-rusher in Cedrick Lattimore (6-4,251), and a strongside defensive end, in Chauncey Golston, is physically impressive at 6-6, 235-pounds, with room for more. They will certainly give quarterbacks a fit this season. The Bulldogs have a number of other seniors who will have the opportunity to commit to a Division I school themselves in due time.
Detroit Renaissance doesn't have any committed players just yet, but they do have one of the best offensive linemen in the state, in Alaric Jackson, who is a 6-6, 285-pound athletic freak, with an impressive offer sheet. You should see him on the basketball court, and what he can do at that size. Fellow senior, Mark Wilson, also excels in multiple sports, including football, and track and field. He has an offer from Kent State at defensive back.
