2016 Wide Receiver Garnering National Attention

Spring football is in full swing across the country, yet college coaches are still hard at work evaluating talent. Among the instate talent beginning to heat up this off season is class of 2016 wide receiver [db]Donnie Corley[db/].
The Roosevelt high (Wyandotte) receiver had quite a productive sophomore campaign in 2013, which has led to attention from some big time schools. Corley had 23 catches, good for 466 yards and four touchdowns. His yards per catch was an astounding 20.3. Corley stands at 6'2" and weighs 170 pounds. His unique size and speed will be a draw for college coaches, especially considering he will be able to add size under the watchful eye of a collegeite strength and conditioning program.

After a solid first year on varsity Corley is beginning to draw interest from the likes of Big Ten powers Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Northwestern. Corley has even been contacted by reigning national champions Florida State.
This spring Corley has been busy taking visits, but only to the two instate rivals, Michigan and Michigan State.
"I visited Michigan recently and the visit was a great experience, I had a lot of fun up there." Michigan has also invited Corley to their spring game. Coach Jeff Hecklinski has been the primary recruiter for Corley, but he has begun to develop a relationship with the whole coaching staff. "I love the (Michigan) coaches. They have been great."
Although Corley admits to growing up rooting for the Wolverines, all allegiances are now set aside. "I grew up being a Michigan fan, but it doesn't matter to me now. I'm a fan of both Michigan and Michigan State. I really like them both a lot."
Corley has been up to East Lansing several times in the past year and has a great familiarity with one coach in particular. "I have a great relationship with coach (Curtis) Blackwell. He was my old coach for a 7 on 7 team I was on."
Blackwell is in his second year on the Michigan State staff and his hiring has already paid dividends for the Spartans. He has helped Michigan State recruit the Metro Detroit area with great success the past two years. Blackwell will continue to use his connections with players like Corley.
As far as summer plans are concerned, Corley plans on attending the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in Southfield and taking more visits to colleges. With two years left of prep football to be played for Corley, his name is one that won't be going away anytime soon.
