2016 Anthony Kay talks recruiting and his senior season

West Bloomfield (Mich.) is tied for first in the state with four Division I commits, Trishton Jackson (Michigan State), Navon Mosley (Purdue), Evan Foster (Bowling Green), and Justin Clark (Toledo), and they have a few other potential Division I prospects on their roster as well.
Senior offensive lineman, Anthony Kay, is one of those hopefuls. The 6-4, 275-pounder currently doesn't hold any offers to this point, but is optimistic on the future. Although the the process has been slow for him, compared to his other teammates, he remains patient.

"I've handled it fine," Kay said on his slow recruitment. "I understand the recruiting process, and I know my time will come. Yes. I know that if I keep working hard, and listening to my coaches, the offers will start to come.
"I've been taking visits to different colleges and seeing what would be the best fit for me and my family. Having eight siblings will be a big impact on my decision."
Kay, who will be starting his second year in varsity this fall, has been in contact with a number of MAC, GLIAC, and Ivy League programs. Someone has yes to pull the trigger on him, but that doesn't mean it won't happen sooner or later. Kay believes it will, as he continues to work, and attend camps before the season starts back.
"Yeah Wayne State and Grand Valley seem pretty close," he said. "Also Eastern Michigan. I'm going to GVSU's camp tomorrow, and Eastern's Michigan's camp next month.
"I'm excited to learn new things there (GVSU camp), and show them what i can do on the field. Also I want to get a look at the campus and their athletic facilities."
Kay also plans on visiting a few more MAC schools before summer camp opens, then it's on to something he can control. His senior season with West Bloomfield. The Lakers had one of the program's best seasons in school history, going 9-2, and Kay thinks they can do better than that in 2015. Talent certainly won't be an issue for West Bloomfield, and last season's ups and downs will be beneficial as well. Winning their league, and possibly a state title is all that West Bloomfield is thinking about.
"It was one of the best experiences I've ever had as an athlete," Kay said on the 2014 season. "It was a great season, and a great run, but we're looking to build and improve for the upcoming season.
"We lost a lot of great talent, but we think we have a lot of experience returning, and we plan to improve and build off all the success our team had last year. With the talent on this team, and the coaching we have, there are no exscuses for anything less."
One of the strong points on West Bloomfield's team will be there offensive line, anchored by Kay and fellow senior Jacob Phillips. Kay will either okay center of guard this season, and as he and his position-mates have success, the team will as a whole will have success.
"I think we will be very good," Kay said. "We have a lot of experience with four returning players. We have also learned a lot from the past few senior classes that have helped us a lot. We plan on using our experience, and our toughness to lead us throughout the year."
