Michigan lineman camps at Iowa
The busy summer schedule for Michigan lineman Garret Davis brought him to Iowa City on Saturday for the Hawkeyes' one-day elite camp. The 6-foot-3, 269-pound Davis, who attends Willow Run HS in Ypsilanti, could not wear pads at the camp because of Michigan's high school rules, but still got in plenty of work during one-on-ones and individual drills.
Davis is receiving more interest from the Hawkeyes as an offensive lineman, but worked primarily at d-line during the camp because of numbers. The Michigan native, who just turned 17 this month, hopes to hear back from the Hawkeyes about his performance soon.
Up next for Davis is another round of camps as he continues to showcase his potential on both sides of the ball. In fact, the two-way lineman has stops at Wisconsin, Toledo, Illinois, and Purdue scheduled over the next six days.
Davis, who is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, hopes to make his college decision by August.
